The Kreate 8 is the 8-inch model among the three sizes of the KRK Kreate Series, launched in June 2025. KRK Systems, founded in 1986 and now part of Gibson of Nashville, pitches the Kreate family as an entry-level range for musicians, engineers, producers and content creators who also want wireless playback. Each Kreate 8 is sold individually rather than in pairs, and every unit carries its own Bluetooth receiver alongside the usual wired inputs.
Key specs that matter
Inside the ported two-way box sit an 8-inch woven glass fibre composite woofer with a ferrite motor and a 1-inch textile dome tweeter driven by a neodymium magnet. The two meet at 2.5 kHz. An 80 W class D amplifier handles the woofer and a 20 W class A/B amplifier the tweeter, giving 100 W in total at 1% THD+N and 210 W as the dynamic peak figure. Frequency response is 48 Hz to 40 kHz at plus or minus 3 dB, with 40 Hz reached at -10 dB. Maximum level is rated at 111 dB SPL, measured coverage is 130 by 85 degrees, and noise sits more than 94 dB below signal. The cabinet stands 388 mm tall, 275 mm wide and 304 mm deep, and each speaker weighs 9.3 kg.
Engineering and use context
KRK combines class D efficiency in the bass channel, where most of the power goes, with a linear class A/B stage for the tweeter, and states that its amplifiers run at reduced temperatures during long sessions. The MDF enclosure is wrapped in PVC vinyl, and the front baffle adds a reinforced faceplate of high-impact polystyrene over MDF. The fuse is a T6.3AL rated at 250 V and is not user serviceable. The illuminated KRK logo on the front doubles as the power indicator, and when it goes dark with the rear switch still on, the speaker is in standby. Streaming uses Bluetooth Classic 5.3 with the A2DP profile, and true wireless stereo mode lets two cabinets share one wireless source as a left and right pair.
Pairing
The rear panel is identical to that of the smaller Kreate 5. Balanced signals arrive on XLR or 1/4-inch TRS through a Neutrik combo connector, and unbalanced gear such as DJ mixers or consumer players connects to the RCA jack. A gain knob and two level switches for the high and low bands sit beside the inputs. A phone or computer without balanced outputs can be wired through a 1/8-inch stereo to dual 1/4-inch lead. The universal switch-mode supply accepts 100 to 240 V, and no external amplifier is involved.
Alternatives
The KRK ROKIT 8 Generation Five uses the same woofer size with a woven Kevlar cone, all class D bi-amplification rated at 203 W and three switchable voicing modes.
