The Kreate 5 is the middle model of the Kreate Series, an entry-level range of two-way studio monitors that KRK Systems announced in June 2025 in 3-inch, 5-inch and 8-inch sizes. Where the smallest Kreate 3 is sold as a linked pair, the Kreate 5 is priced and sold as a single speaker. KRK aims the series at musicians, producers, podcasters and content creators, and the main novelty against its other lines is a Bluetooth receiver built into every cabinet. Launch colours were the traditional black with yellow and a latte with black option, with white and yellow and scarlet and black versions announced to follow.
Key specs that matter
The 5-inch woofer has a cone of woven glass fibre composite on a ferrite magnet, and the 1-inch textile dome tweeter uses a neodymium magnet, with the crossover set at 2.56 kHz. Amplification is hybrid - a 45 W class D stage drives the woofer and a 15 W class A/B stage drives the tweeter, for 60 W rated at 1% THD+N and 128 W of dynamic peak output. KRK quotes 58 Hz to 40 kHz within 3 dB and a lower -10 dB limit of 46 Hz. Maximum output is 105 dB SPL, dispersion averages 135 degrees horizontally by 90 degrees vertically, and signal to noise ratio exceeds 94 dB. A single cabinet is 259 mm high, 185 mm wide and 229 mm deep and weighs 4.3 kg.
Engineering and use context
The bass reflex enclosure is PVC-wrapped MDF, and the baffle combines MDF with a reinforced high-impact polystyrene faceplate. KRK says its composite woven cone was chosen for damping and control of modal breakup. Bluetooth 5.3 with A2DP and TWS support lets two Kreate 5 units link wirelessly - holding the button for 3 seconds on both speakers joins them, the one with a blinking LED becomes the left channel, and a 10-second press undoes the link. The same button disables auto-standby with three presses and restores it with two, while the monitor otherwise sleeps after 30 minutes of silence. A switch-mode supply accepts 100 to 240 V AC at 50 or 60 Hz, with power entering through an IEC C14 socket.
Pairing
Wired connections cover a Neutrik combo socket that takes balanced XLR or 1/4-inch TRS with a friction lock, plus an unbalanced RCA jack for DJ mixers, interfaces and consumer players. A phone or laptop can also be wired with a 1/8-inch stereo to dual 1/4-inch adapter lead, or simply streamed over Bluetooth when no cable is at hand. A rear level knob sets system gain, and switches trim the treble from -2 dB to +1 dB and the bass from -2 dB to +2 dB. No separate power amplifier is required.
Alternatives
The KRK Kreate 3 is the compact entry in the same series, a 3-inch system sold as a pair with a stereo 1/8-inch aux input and response reaching 33 kHz.
