Göbel High End (also written Goebel) is a German loudspeaker and cable maker founded in 2003 by Oliver Göbel, previously lead loudspeaker engineer at Siemens. Based near Munich, it builds very large, very expensive floorstanding speakers and subwoofers, plus the Lacorde Statement cable family, and states that its products are made entirely in Germany. Its name is tied to the patented Carbon Excellence bending wave flat panel driver.
Range & what it's known for
Two loudspeaker families make up the range. Epoque Aeon models (Reference, Fine and Wall, with the Baforce and Baforce Petite subwoofers and a Baforce Controller) pair the bending wave panel, covering roughly 160 Hz to 31 kHz, with arrays of long-throw aluminium bass drivers, some active and some working as passive radiators. The earlier Epoque Reference stood nearly 7 feet tall and used twelve 7 inch bass units. The Divin series uses conventional drivers in heavy, angular cabinets, from the Divin Comtesse and Marquis up to the Noblesse, Monarque and the 530 kg Divin Majestic with two 18 inch woofers, plus the Divin Sovereign subwoofer.
Who owns it and where it's made
The company carries its founder's name and is run by Oliver Göbel himself. Design and production take place at its own factory roughly a 20 minute drive west of central Munich, where the aluminium enclosures, the driver assemblies and the cables are made in house. The Lacorde Statement cables began as a side project to drive the Epoque speakers properly and now cover speaker, jumper, XLR, RCA, power, Ethernet, USB and digital links.
The lineup in this catalog
Loudspeakers and cables. Göbel pricing begins around EUR 10,000 and climbs well over EUR 100,000 for the top Epoque and Divin systems.
Who it's for
Göbel suits buyers with a large dedicated room and a six-figure budget who want either a bending wave panel speaker or a massive conventional design from a small German workshop. The Epoque Aeon line is aimed at small and medium rooms, and a Baforce subwoofer can be added later. Lacorde Statement cables are the lowest-cost way into the brand.
