Accustic Arts is a German maker of amplifiers, preamplifiers and CD players based in Lauffen am Neckar near Stuttgart. The brand was introduced in 1997 after five years of development with outside engineers, and its name is short for ACCUrate acouSTIC ARTS. The company also runs a professional recording studio and, since 2009, its own label, Accustic Arts Audiophile Recordings, led by sound engineer Milan Sajé and A&R manager Rasmus Muttscheller.
Range & what it's known for
Products are split into a Top series and a Reference series. The Top series groups the AMP I, POWER II, POWER III, PREAMP I and PLAYER III. The Reference series covers the AMP IV and AMP VI stereo power amplifiers, the MONO IV, MONO VI and MONO VI Signature monoblocks, the PREAMP V and PREAMP V PHONO, the TUBE PREAMP V and TUBE PREAMP V PHONO, the DRIVE IV transport and the PLAYER IV top-loading CD player and DAC. Most of the electronics are solid state, but the TUBE preamplifiers use a hybrid circuit with two valves per channel in a fully balanced layout. The AMP VI is a dual-mono design with a separate power supply for each channel and 40 MOSFET output transistors, and the PLAYER IV pairs a CD Pro-8 drive with 32-bit 384 kHz upsampling.
Who owns it and where it's made
The company trades as ACCUSTIC ARTS Audio GmbH, registered in Lauffen am Neckar and managed by Hans-Joachim Voss. Its premises, built in 1998, house sales and marketing, production of all electronic components, a separate test and measuring area, warehousing and shipping, plus the recording studio. All products are made in Germany, and an individual unit can spend up to two weeks in testing before dispatch. A demonstration room at the Lauffen site is open by appointment.
The lineup in this catalog
The catalog lists 13 Accustic Arts amplifiers, preamplifiers and disc players, priced from around EUR 5,000 for entry electronics to above EUR 30,000 for reference separates such as the PREAMP V.
Who it's for
Accustic Arts fits buyers who want German-built separates with balanced XLR connections and a system that plays CDs as well as computer files through the DAC inputs of the PLAYER IV. The Top series is the entry. The Reference series is the next step, first with a stereo power amplifier, then with MONO VI monoblocks, and a tube-hybrid preamplifier offers a way to add valves without leaving the brand.
