The Engström M-Optic phonocorrector uses a Lundahl transformer, which converts the photodiode current signal into a voltage. According to Engström, such a scheme also helps to maintain the phase consistency of the channels and reduce unwanted uplift in the low-frequency region that occurs in the cartridge signal.
