The Pro-Ject Pre Box RS2 Digital preamp is designed in a balanced configuration and is built in the "dual mono" concept using two ESS9038Q2M Sabre32 DAC chips from ESS Technology (one in each channel).
The conversion is entrusted to a dual ESS Sabre 9038Q2M chip, and the set of inputs includes two optical, one coaxial, one AES/EBU, a USB 2.0 port, as well as an HDMI connector for receiving an I2S signal from a Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T CD player.
The DAC is equipped with a USB port, optical and coaxial inputs, as well as a linear analog output. Via the USB input, the DAC supports digital PCM streams with parameters up to 32 bit / 768 kHz and DSD up to 256 MHz, that is, it is capable of reproducing audio material in the latest High Resolution formats.

The Pro-Ject Audio DAC Box RS Final Edition DAC offers a rich switching set, which includes an I2S input with Master Clock, a balanced AES/EBU input, an optical Toslink, a coaxial input, and a USB-B port. The DAC is capable of decoding audio in DSD formats up to DSD128 and PCM up to 24 bit/192 kHz (24 bit/96 kHz for the optical input). The new product is based on a pair of Texas Instruments PCM 1792 chips and offers a choice of digital filters. Output stages - ECC88 Diamond selection high-end tube and solid state (switchable).
