According to the developers, the retro design with open elements demonstrates the owner's desire to make his stereo system not only a musical, but also a visual center of the living room. The metal body of the player is polished to a mirror-like shine, and large logos with the model name are applied to the sides.
The MCD350 player is capable of playing SACDs and CDs. It has a 32-bit/192 kHz DAC on board, fixed analog stereo outputs in balanced and unbalanced versions, as well as optics and coaxial on the back wall.
The McIntosh MCD 600 can read CDs, SACD discs, works with self-made CDs, DVDs, or reads files through media connected to a USB port. File capabilities are AAC, AIFF, ALAC, DSD, FLAC, MP3, WAV and WMA.
The model received seven digital inputs: two coaxial, two optical, AES/EBU, USB and a proprietary input with a USB connector. If we talk about outputs, they are balanced and conventional, with a choice between terminal stages on lamps or semiconductors.
