This is a four-way speaker with a bass reflex design and a proprietary array of speakers. In total, each speaker has 70 emitters: 4 6.5-inch woofers, two 6.5-inch midbase speakers, 24 2-inch midrange speakers and 40 0.75-inch diameter tweeters.
Each McIntosh XRT2.1K is equipped with 6 x 8' woofers, 2 x 6.5' modules work on the lower midrange, followed by a separate unit containing 28 x 2' (upper midrange) and as many as 48 x 0.75' tweeters.
