The input stage is a fully symmetrical broadband voltage amplifier with a signal rise rate of 300 V/µs and a loopback feedback circuit for error correction. The output stage has 64 MOSFET field—effect transistors with a double substrate - they are custom-made for Chord Electronics and matched in pairs. The servo circuit monitors the absence of a constant component at the output and thermal compensation.
The ULTIMA 2 are more compact monoblocks that continue the new circuit solutions pioneered in the grandiose Ultima Chord. The Ultima 2 power amplifiers offer the music lover tremendous dynamics and high power (750 watts at 8 ohms and 1305 watts at 4 ohms) using brand new advanced amplification circuits not available from other manufacturers.
