Проигрыватели виниловых дисков — Pro-Ject Essential III Sgt. Pepper’s Drum

The Essential III Sgt. Pepper's Drum is a belt-drive turntable from Pro-Ject, part of a limited Beatles-themed collaboration series built on the brand's Essential-tier platform with an Ortofon OM10 cartridge pre-fitted. Pro-Ject has released numerous artist and franchise collaboration turntables over the years, and this model represents one entry in that broader tradition, drawing on the iconic Sgt. Pepper's album artwork for its distinctive drum-inspired cosmetic treatment.

Position in line

Buyers should understand that the core turntable mechanics here are shared with Pro-Ject's standard Essential-tier decks, with the specific Beatles-themed cosmetic treatment being the primary reason to choose this edition over a standard model at a similar price.

Key specs that matter

Two speeds are supported - 33 and 45 rpm. The platter is 300mm acrylic with a felt mat. The pre-fitted cartridge is an Ortofon OM10, a well-regarded entry moving-magnet design in its own right. At 488 x 235 x 393 mm and 7 kg it shares its general footprint with other Essential-tier Pro-Ject decks.

Sound and use context

Expect the same settled, functional character as Pro-Ject's other entry belt-drive decks, with the pre-fitted Ortofon OM10 giving a known, dependable moving-magnet starting point - this collaboration edition should perform comparably to any standard Pro-Ject deck sharing the same cartridge and platform, with the Beatles branding purely a cosmetic and collector consideration.

Pairing

The pre-fitted Ortofon OM10 is moving-magnet, needing standard MM phono gain from the amplifier or a separate phono stage, so integration into a conventional vinyl-capable system should present no particular difficulty.

Alternatives

The George Harrison Recordplayer and Rolling Stones Recordplayer share the same general collaboration series with different artist branding; Pro-Ject's standard Debut Carbon EVO covers the same mechanical territory without collaboration branding, worth considering if the specific Beatles cosmetic treatment does not carry enough personal appeal to justify any price premium. Because Beatles collaboration editions like this one are often produced in limited numbers, checking current availability directly with a Pro-Ject dealer is worthwhile before assuming a specific finish remains readily in stock. Collectors specifically drawn to the artist branding should also confirm whether any additional packaging or certificate of authenticity accompanies this particular release.
