Five drivers share the work in a passive three-way arrangement. Three 165 mm woofers with Micro Ceramic Composite (MCC) cones handle the bass, a 165 mm midrange uses a Deep Ceramic Composite (DCC) cone, and a 25 mm DCC dome covers the top octaves. Crossover points sit at 275 Hz and 1.7 kHz. Revel quotes a range of 30 Hz to 40 kHz within plus or minus 6 dB, sensitivity of 88 dB measured with 2.83 V at 1 m, and a nominal impedance of 6 ohm. Engineering and use context

Around the tweeter sits a 7th-generation Acoustic Lens waveguide, which the company describes as a tool for directivity control, higher efficiency and lower distortion. Both ceramic composite materials were chosen for stiffness at low moving mass. Two ports on the rear panel vent the bass-reflex box, and its walls are cross-braced internally. The crossover network uses air-core inductors in the midrange and tweeter sections. Two sets of 5-way crystal brass binding posts permit bi-wiring or bi-amping. The side panels curve gently and carry natural walnut or black walnut veneer, set off by a polished black accent. Grilles attach by magnets, so the front baffle shows no fasteners or visible hardware, and the tower rests on solid aluminium feet that accept optional floor spikes.

Pairing

Revel specifies amplification from 20 W to 250 W per channel. The moderate load and sensitivity mean a mid-powered solid-state integrated amplifier is enough for normal levels, while the upper end of that bracket leaves headroom. Owners who split the bass section from the midrange and tweeter can run two stereo amplifiers through the separate terminals. For home cinema the series offers the C245 centre and the B140 subwoofer, both in matching veneers.
