The Bronze 300 7G belongs to Bronze 7G, the seventh edition of the entry-level Bronze loudspeaker family made by the UK company Monitor Audio, and it is the tower model of that range. It is a passive two and a half-way tower with a new crossover design and a fresh, contemporary cabinet appearance. The range also includes the Bronze AMS 7G, the Bronze On-Wall 7G and the Bronze Centre 7G, which lets an owner build a surround system entirely within this generation.

Key specs that matter

Monitor Audio fits a 25 mm C-CAM Gold treble dome behind a UD waveguide, a 6-inch C-CAM bass-mid unit and a second 6-inch C-CAM driver that handles bass only. The crossover splits the signal at 470 Hz and 2.6 kHz. In-room response is 34 Hz to 30 kHz at -6 dB, and sensitivity is 88 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m in free field. Rated impedance is 8 ohm with a minimum of 4.4 ohm at 38 Hz. Continuous power handling is 150 W to CTA 426-B, and peak output reaches 118 dB (AES75, Z-weighted). Engineering and use context

Because this is a 2.5-way arrangement, the lower 6-inch unit is limited to low frequencies, and the upper 6-inch cone covers bass plus midrange up to the tweeter handover point. Bass is reinforced by a HiVe II port tuned to 38 Hz, a design that Monitor Audio says reduces turbulence and helps air accelerate through the port for faster transients. The UD waveguide around the tweeter dome is there to control dispersion and keep the tweeter output consistent with the bass-mid cone near the crossover transition. The cabinet stands on sturdy outriggers joined to a plinth and spike assembly, which widens its base and couples it to the floor. Buyers can choose walnut, black or white, and the walnut version comes with a contrasting black baffle. Monitor Audio covers the speaker with a 5-year warranty, and it is sold in pairs.

Pairing

Monitor Audio lists a recommended amplifier range of 40 W to its continuous rating into 8 ohm and 75 to 300 W into 4 ohm. The impedance dip coincides with the port tuning, so the amplifier should deliver steady current in the lowest octave. For a 20 m2 living room a mainstream integrated amplifier or AV receiver within those ranges is suitable, and the Bronze Centre 7G and Bronze AMS 7G complete a home cinema layout.
