The Beolab 90 Titan Edition was unveiled by Bang & Olufsen on 13 November 2025, ten years after the original Beolab 90 appeared, and opened a planned series of five Atelier editions marking the centenary of the company founded in Struer, Denmark, in 1925. Built by the Bang & Olufsen Atelier service in very limited numbers, it strips away the acoustic veils so that the drivers and the raw metal structure of the speaker are exposed. No official price was announced at launch, and the standard pair starts at USD 211,800.
Key specs that matter
Amplification totals 8,200 W per cabinet. Seven ICEpower AM300-X modules feed the tweeters and another seven drive the midrange units, while four Heliox AM1000-1 amplifiers look after the three woofers and the front woofer. With a narrow beam and a digital input, the response measured on axis at 1 m in free field is 18 Hz to 35,000 Hz within +0 and -3 dB, and a pair can produce 118 dB SPL in the bass. Processing runs on two Analog Devices ADSP-21489 chips clocked at 450 MHz, using 32-bit floating point at a 192 kHz sampling rate. Each finished speaker weighs 137 kg.
Engineering and use context
The 65 kg aluminium cabinet is sandblasted by hand with fine particles of volcanic rock to give it a textured natural surface, while polished base panels make the body appear to float. The face mask is machined from one solid block of aluminium in a process lasting twelve hours, and its grooves radiate outward in a pattern that recalls sound waves. Rings around each woofer combine matte and polished finishes, laser engravings commemorate the centenary, and bespoke fasteners with small apertures add depth when light falls on them. The software feature set matches the regular model - Beam Direction Control with five positions, Beam Width Control, Adaptive Bass Linearization and thermal protection. The DSP lets the owner choose between a focused sound field for one seat and a full 360-degree spread.
Pairing
Bang & Olufsen gives a recommended room size of 30 to 200 m2 for the Beolab 90. The two speakers are linked through RJ45 Power Link sockets, and the primary unit also has a microphone and infrared connection alongside its wired and wireless audio inputs, so a source can be connected directly without any separate amplifier.
Alternatives
Bang & Olufsen also makes the Beolab 50, an active floorstanding loudspeaker with one tweeter, three midrange drivers and three 10 inch woofers per cabinet.
