The 360 Exakt Integrated is the fully active version of the 360, a four-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed and built by Linn in Scotland and introduced in April 2023. Every channel of amplification, digital conversion and crossover filtering sits inside the cabinet, so each speaker receives music as a digital stream and only needs a mains supply and an Exakt link. At its launch the pair was listed at 87,500 GBP, and by 2026 the price had moved to 99,500 GBP, 104,130 EUR or 142,500 USD.

Key specs that matter

Five drive units share a 60 litre enclosure - a 19 mm dome tweeter, a 64 mm thin-ply woven carbon midrange dome, a 190 mm aluminium and magnesium upper bass cone and a pair of 220 mm long-throw aluminium woofers. Linn quotes a frequency response of 20 Hz to 32 kHz within ±2 dB. Each cabinet holds five amplifier channels - two 500 W Power DAC stages for the woofers, a bridged 300 W stage for the upper bass and 150 W stages for the midrange and the tweeter, all rated into 4 ohm. On its stand one speaker stands 1141 mm high, 411 mm wide and 484 mm deep and weighs 70 kg. The auto-ranging mains supply accepts 90 to 135 V or 180 to 265 V AC at 50 or 60 Hz.

Engineering and use context

Exakt keeps the signal in the digital domain until just before the drive units, with the crossover calculated digitally rather than built from passive parts. The upper bass, midrange and tweeter channels use Class AB amplifiers with Adaptive Bias Control, which measures the bias current of the output transistors in real time and corrects it through a digital feedback loop to cancel crossover distortion as temperature and level change. Linn states that the tweeter amplifier was tuned for low distortion up to the top of the audio band and lowers the noise floor by around 15 dB. The woofers run from the Power DAC architecture, which merges conversion and amplification into one step to reach high power at low distortion with good efficiency. Linn's Organik DAC is also integrated in each speaker. The front baffle is formed from shaped 3D laminates, with radii matched to each drive unit.

Pairing

Because conversion and amplification are built in, no separate power amplifiers or speaker cables are needed. The rear panel carries one Exakt IN and one Exakt OUT socket, so the speakers take their signal from a Linn Exakt source such as a Klimax DSM and can pass it on to further Exakt products in the chain.

Alternatives

The Linn 360 Passive with Active Bass uses the same cabinet and drivers but leaves the upper three sections to external amplifiers.
