The 3030i is a bookshelf loudspeaker in the Q Acoustics 3000i range, a series that also contains the 3010i, 3020i, 3050i, 3090i and 3060S. The 3030i is built as a two-way reflex enclosure around a 165 mm mid/bass unit, which Q Acoustics developed from the driver of the 3050i floorstander and fitted with an optimised motor system. Every model in the range uses precision-formed mid/bass drivers with cones made from a combination of impregnated and coated paper, held by a newly developed low-hysteresis rubber surround. According to Q Acoustics, the coated paper gives the cone the stiffness and self-damping it needs to accelerate without flexing and to stop without resonance. Chrome-finish bezels frame each driver, the grilles fix magnetically, and the cabinets in the range share a curved shape.
