Наушники — JBL TUNE 520BT

The JBL Tune 520BT is a Bluetooth on-ear headphone of the Tune series using Bluetooth 5.3 and a foldable, lightweight frame. JBL presented it as an upgrade with longer battery life, available on its own site from March 2024 at USD 49.95 in black, white, blue and purple. JBL adds multipoint pairing, hands-free calls with Voice Aware, voice prompts in the owner's language and support for the free JBL Headphones app, where the EQ can be adjusted.

Key specs that matter

The drivers are 33 mm dynamic units. JBL quotes 20 Hz to 20 kHz, an impedance of 30 ohm, sensitivity of 102 dB SPL at 1 kHz and 1 mW and a maximum SPL of 95 dB. A 450 mAh lithium-ion cell at 3.7 V gives up to 57 hours of music, recharges in 2 hours over USB-C, and a 5 minute charge adds 3 hours. Weight is 157 g. The ear cups measure 7.34 cm high and wide on the outside, 3.1 cm on the inside and 1.78 cm deep.

Engineering and use context

The Bluetooth radio supports HFP 1.7.2, AVRCP 1.6.2 and A2DP 1.3.2 profiles, transmits at 6 dBm EIRP in the 2.4 GHz to 2.4835 GHz band and uses GFSK, pi/4-DQPSK and 8-DPSK modulation. The call microphone is rated at -40 dBV at 1 kHz per pascal, and with Voice Aware the user's own speech is fed back during calls. Controls for volume, playback and calls sit on the ear cup. JBL fits soft cushions and a padded band to keep the headphone comfortable after hours of listening, and the frame folds flat for a backpack. Power input is rated 5 V at 1 A, with 45 degrees C as the upper operating limit.

Pairing

Two Bluetooth sources may remain linked together, and an incoming mobile call interrupts video playing on the second device without manual switching. Siri or Hey Google is reached through the multi-function button. In the carton come the headphone itself, a Type-C cable for charging, a QSG and warranty documents. The app provides the EQ and the language setting for the voice prompts, and it is free to download for iOS and Android devices.
