The JBL LIVE BEAM 3 is a closed-stick true wireless earphone with noise cancelling, introduced in 2024. Its defining feature is the Smart Charging Case with a 37 mm touchscreen that controls the earbuds without opening a phone app.

A 10 mm dynamic driver in every earbud supports Hi-Res Audio Wireless. JBL lists 20 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response, 16 ohm impedance, 98 dB SPL sensitivity at 1 kHz and a 96 dB maximum SPL. From the touchscreen the owner can change volume and EQ, control music, take calls, read messages and set a custom screensaver photo, and the case can serve a laptop, TV or tablet. Four noise-sensing mics adapt the noise cancelling in real time, and auto compensation in the app tunes the ANC level to the fit and ear canal. Six beamforming microphones reduce wind and noise on calls, and a voice equalizer plus voice level optimizer control how the wearer sounds and how loud callers are. Talk time is up to 6 hours without ANC and 5 hours with it. The earbud radio transmits at under 12 dBm EIRP and the case at under 8 dBm. Multi-point connection, Google Finder and Google Audio Switch cover device handling, and JBL Spatial Sound adds virtual surround. Maximum operating temperature is 45 degrees C, and the power supply rating is 5 V 1 A.

Pairing

The box holds the earbuds, four sizes of ear tips, a Type-C lead, the case and printed guides. The JBL Headphones app offers fit checks, ambient control, customisation of gestures, a voice assistant selection and Relax playlists, while Personi-Fi 3.0 builds a listening profile. A loop on the case takes a lanyard.
