The Tour Pro 3 is a JBL in-ear model with true wireless design and noise cancelling, launched in 2024 and supplied in a Smart Charging Case with a touchscreen. The case shows media controls and noise cancelling settings, and it can also work as an audio transmitter, so the earbuds receive sound from sources that have no Bluetooth of their own.

Key specs that matter

Both earbuds use hybrid driver pairs, a 10.2 mm dynamic unit and a 5.1 x 2.8 mm balanced armature. JBL lists a frequency response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz, an impedance of 32 ohm, a sensitivity of 104 dB SPL at 1 kHz and a maximum SPL of 95 dB. Playback reaches 11 hours with noise cancelling off, 8 hours with it on and 7 hours in True Adaptive mode, while the case holds enough for three more complete refills, giving up to 44 hours overall. A 10-minute charge gives three more hours, a full charge takes 2 hours, and the case also recharges on a wireless pad. One earbud weighs 5.6 g and the case 71.8 g.

Engineering and use context

Bluetooth 5.3 is used in both earbuds and case, with A2DP 1.4, AVRCP 1.6.2 and HFP 1.8 profiles, and LE Audio is added through a software update. LDAC carries Hi-Res certified audio from compatible Android phones. With one of the two included cables, the case connects to an AUX or USB-C output such as an aircraft seat system, a gym machine or a TV, then streams to the earbuds, and an Auracast button lets it share audio with nearby devices. True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 calibrates itself in real time, and foam tips are included next to five sizes of silicone tips for extra passive isolation. For calls there are six microphones, two beamforming outer mics per earbud plus one inner mic, with a windproof design and Zoom certification. Spatial 360 with head tracking, Personi-Fi 3.0 and a hearing boost of up to 15 to 20 dB are set in the JBL Headphones app. The earbuds use 65 mAh cells and the case an 850 mAh cell.

Pairing

Fast Pair and Swift Pair make first connection quicker with Android phones and Windows 10 computers, and any other Bluetooth device pairs normally. Owners of Android phones with LDAC gain the higher resolution link, while iPhone users rely on the standard codecs. Frequent flyers can use the transmitter function in place of a separate adapter.
