The M33 V2 is a streaming DAC amplifier from NAD's Masters Series, announced on 14 May 2025 at High End Munich and available from 11 August 2025 at USD 5,999, GBP 4,999 or EUR 6,499. It updates the M33 of 2020 with a new DAC and ADC, second-generation Purifi amplification and balanced pre-outs, and it combines streaming, phono, HDMI and a touchscreen in one chassis.

Key specs that matter

NAD rates continuous power at over 200 W per channel into 8 ohms and over 380 W into 4 ohms, with more than 700 W into 8 ohms in bridged mode. IHF dynamic power is 280 W into 8 ohms and 560 W into 4 ohms. THD stays below 0.003% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz between 1 and 200 W, signal to noise ratio exceeds 98 dB at 1 W and 120 dB at 200 W, and damping factor exceeds 800. Line input sensitivity is 460 mV, or 250 mV balanced, with 53 kohm impedance. Phono sensitivity is 5 mV for MM and 370 µV for MC cartridges. Idle consumption is below 40 W, standby below 0.5 W and network standby below 7 W. The chassis measures 435 x 133 x 396 mm and weighs 9.7 kg.

Engineering and use context

The amplifier stage uses second-generation Purifi Eigentakt modules. Conversion is by an ESS ES9039PRO DAC up to 24 bit and 192 kHz, and analogue inputs pass through a new ESS ADC, with MQA Labs QRONO processing on the DAC side and FOQUS on the ADC side. The BluOS platform provides streaming with AirPlay 2, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, and two-way Bluetooth 5.0 supports aptX HD. Inputs are RCA and XLR line, MM/MC phono, two optical, two coaxial, AES/EBU, USB Type-A and HDMI eARC. Outputs include XLR and RCA pre-outs, subwoofer outputs with selectable crossover, a headphone jack and one pair of speaker terminals. Two MDC2 slots accept future upgrade modules. Tone controls give ±6 dB, and a 17.8 cm colour touchscreen shows source and track information. The network side offers wired Gigabit and dual-band Wi-Fi 5, with IR input and 12 V trigger in and out on the rear panel.

Pairing

High current into 4 ohm loads and a damping factor above 800 let the M33 V2 drive demanding floorstanders. A television connects through HDMI eARC, a turntable with either MM or MC cartridge through the phono input, and a subwoofer through the dedicated outputs.
