The C 3030 is a stereo integrated amplifier from NAD whose black faceplate, illuminated VU meters and cursive logo recall the original NAD 3030 of the brand's Classic Series. It is built around the company's HybridDigital amplifier platform in a compact chassis, and NAD launched it next to the C 3030S streaming variant at a recommended price of USD 899.
Key specs that matter
Continuous output is 50 W per channel into both 8 and 4 ohms, with clipping power above 55 W into 8 ohms and 70 W into 4 ohms. IHF dynamic power reaches 120 W into 8 ohms, 250 W into 4 ohms and 390 W into 2 ohms, and peak output current exceeds 16 A into 1 ohm. THD stays below 0.03% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, while noise sits more than 90 dB below full output A-weighted, and line response is within 0.3 dB over that band. Line sensitivity for full output is 750 mV with a line input impedance of 28 kOhm plus 360 pF. The damping factor is above 52, and channel separation exceeds 75 dB at 1 kHz and 70 dB at 10 kHz. The chassis measures 356 x 129 x 329 mm and weighs 5.8 kg net, or 7.2 kg packed.
Engineering and use context
Connections include HDMI eARC, aptX HD Bluetooth, an optical digital input, RCA line inputs and a moving magnet phono input. The phono stage needs 1.6 mV for rated output, presents 46 kOhm with 100 pF, tracks the RIAA curve within 0.3 dB, keeps THD under 0.05% at rated power and reaches a phono noise figure better than 82 dB. A bass-managed subwoofer output works and can apply a fixed 80 Hz high-pass filter to the main channels. There is also a preamp output with 345 ohm output impedance, a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the front with 22 ohm output impedance, and a supplied remote control. Standby consumption is 0.5 W, and the Bluetooth receiver works in the 2.402 to 2.480 GHz band with a maximum transmit power of 7 dBm plus or minus 2 dBm. Unlike the C 3030S, this model has no streaming platform built in.
Pairing
Through HDMI eARC a television connects straight to the amplifier, so the same unit can serve both a turntable system and a television setup. The subwoofer output with its high-pass option suits compact stand-mounted speakers joined by an active subwoofer, and the preamp socket leaves room to drive an external power amplifier in a later upgrade.
Alternatives
The NAD C 3030S shares this chassis and power rating but adds BluOS multi-room streaming with Wi-Fi 5 and Gigabit Ethernet.
