The Attessa Streaming Amplifier is an integrated amplifier designed by Roksan in Britain, adding BluOS network playback to the converter, phono stage and Bluetooth of the Attessa Integrated. Within the Attessa series it uses the same low casework, offered in black or silver, with a plated steel chassis and an anodised aluminium front panel.
Key specs that matter
Rated power is 80 W per channel into 8 ohms and 130 W per channel into 4 ohms, both channels driven, nominal, with THD+N under 0.1%, from a Class A/B design. Analogue sources connect via two line-level RCA pairs and one RIAA-equalised MM phono socket, and the second line input has signal sensing for an AV mode. The phono stage loads the cartridge with 47 kilohms and 56 pF and offers three gain settings for cartridges with outputs from 3 to 12 mV. There are two coaxial digital inputs taking up to 24 bit and 192 kHz and two optical inputs taking up to 24 bit and 96 kHz, plus Bluetooth with SBC, aptX and AAC. The unit is 432 mm wide, 76 mm tall and 373 mm deep including connectors, and weighs 10.48 kg.
Engineering and use context
The streaming section runs BluOS, which can group the amplifier into a multiroom system of up to 64 zones. It is Roon Ready and supports AirPlay 2, with high-resolution network playback in FLAC, WAV, AIFF and MQA. An Ethernet port provides the wired network link. Roksan designs the converter itself. A 400 VA transformer supplies the amplifier. Signal sensing on the A2 input allows use as a pass-through stage when combined with a home cinema processor. Control is handled by the MaestroUnite app and an infrared remote, and firmware is updated over the network. The warranty runs five years.
Pairing
For vinyl, the adjustable phono gain covers low and high output moving magnet cartridges without a separate phono preamplifier. The coaxial inputs suit a CD transport, and an optical input can take audio from a television, labelled TV on the rear panel. A subwoofer can be driven from the RCA pre-out. A 3.5 mm headphone output with up to 7.5 V rms allows private listening without an external headphone amplifier. The low-impedance rating makes the amplifier usable with loudspeakers of lower nominal impedance.
Alternatives
The Roksan Attessa Integrated Amplifier uses the same chassis and power rating without the BluOS streaming module, at a US price of USD 2,700.
