The Attessa Integrated Amplifier is a stereo amplifier by the UK brand Roksan that joins a Class A/B output stage, a DAC, an MM phono preamplifier and Bluetooth reception in one low chassis. It belongs to the Attessa series and sits below the Attessa Streaming Amplifier, which shares the same casework but adds network playback. The US list price is USD 2,700, and the casework is offered in a black finish or a silver one.
Key specs that matter
Rated output is 80 W per channel into 8 ohms and 130 W into 4 ohms, both channels driven, at THD+N below 0.1%. Two RCA line inputs sit next to an MM phono input equalised to the RIAA curve. Digital connections are one coaxial input accepting up to 24 bit and 192 kHz, a second coaxial input labelled CD, and two optical inputs limited to 24 bit and 96 kHz, one of them labelled TV. Bluetooth receives at 48 kHz and 16 bit with SBC, aptX and AAC codecs over a range of about 15 m. Outputs are one set of speaker binding posts, an RCA pre-out that doubles as a subwoofer feed, and a 3.5 mm headphone socket delivering up to 7.5 V rms. The case measures 432 mm wide, 76 mm high and 373 mm deep with connectors, and weighs 10.37 kg.
Engineering and use context
Roksan calls its converter section Rapture DAC technology, and it is designed in-house. The power stage is fed by a 400 VA mains transformer, sized to support the low-impedance rating in such a low case. With the optical TV input, the amplifier can take sound from a television and serve as the stereo core of a living room system without a separate AV receiver. The headphone output is a small mini-jack rather than a full-size jack, so larger headphones need an adapter. Setup and control run through the MaestroUnite app, which also delivers firmware over the air, while a supplied infrared remote has a dial with haptic feedback. The steel chassis is plated and the front panel is anodised aluminium. Roksan guarantees parts and labour on the amplifier for five years.
Pairing
For records, all that is required is a deck whose MM cartridge plugs into the phono socket without extra gear, and a CD transport or player can use the coaxial CD input. An active subwoofer connects to the pre-out, and the low-impedance rating leaves room for loudspeakers with a reduced nominal impedance.
Alternatives
The Roksan Attessa Streaming Amplifier keeps the same power stage and adds BluOS network streaming with AirPlay 2 and Roon Ready support.
