TEAC has introduced the TEAC HA-507, a High End headphone amplifier that can also be used as a purely analog preamplifier. The TEAC HA-507 model is made as a fully balanced scheme with a “dual mono” configuration and is capable of providing an output power of up to 6.7 Wt per channel when driving headphones with a nominal impedance of 32 ohms with a balanced connection, which makes it suitable for working with a wide range of headphones.
TEAC HA-507 is equipped with both balanced (XLR and 4.4 mm) and unbalanced (6.3 mm and 3.5 mm) outputs for connecting headphones, and also offers a signal pass-through function. The model is equipped with a new TEAC-QVCS volume control, which uses a high-precision ladder-type resistive matrix for step gain adjustment in 0.25 dB. The preamplifier section also uses TEAC-HCLD 2 amplification technology.
There are also analog outputs - balanced on XLR and unbalanced on RCA, which allows using the new product as a preamplifier with active speakers or a power amplifier. The TEAC HA-507 headphone amplifier is equipped with two independent power supplies, one of which serves the audio circuits, and the other for the control circuits. The power supplies use large toroidal transformers and high-speed Schottky diodes. The total capacitance of the capacitors in the power supply filter reaches 18,800 μF per channel.
The TEAC HA-507 headphone amplifier is housed in a compact aluminum case the size of an A4 sheet. The new product is suitable for both rack mounting and tabletop use. The fanless, heat-dissipating design and 2.8 mm thick aluminum top plate ensure durability, while metal feet provide the necessary vibration isolation. The new product will go on sale in January 2025 at a recommended retail price of $ 1,999.
