Linn 360 Exakt Integrated towers fed by a Linn Klimax DSM need no separate amplifier, no passive crossover and no speaker cables. The whole system is two boxes from one Scottish maker. The Klimax DSM streams and sets the volume, and each 360 cabinet carries its own digital crossover, Organik conversion and amplification for every driver, so the signal stays digital until just before the drive units.
The system at a glance
Two components, a network player and a pair of active floorstanders, cover the entire chain. The 360 Exakt pair was priced at USD 142,500 in 2026, and the Klimax DSM launched at GBP 30,000, which places the system firmly at the top of the market. It is purely digital and suits a listener who streams everything and wants a minimal footprint.
Why these components work together
The Klimax DSM plays PCM up to 24 bit and 384 kHz and DSD up to DSD256 through Linn's in-house Organik converter, which pairs an FPGA with a discrete stage of 16 switches per channel and a femto clock. Its two Exakt Link outputs carry volume-controlled digital audio straight to the speakers, whose rear panels have one Exakt IN and one Exakt OUT socket. Inside each 360, five drivers share a 60 litre enclosure - a 19 mm tweeter, a 64 mm woven carbon midrange dome, a 190 mm aluminium-magnesium upper bass cone and two 220 mm long-throw aluminium woofers. Five amplifier channels drive them, two 500 W Power DAC stages for the woofers, a bridged 300 W stage for the upper bass and 150 W stages for midrange and tweeter, all into 4 ohm. Power DAC merges conversion and amplification in one step, and the upper channels are class AB with Adaptive Bias Control, which corrects output transistor bias in real time to cancel crossover distortion.Since the crossover is computed digitally, timing and level of every band are set before conversion. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 32 kHz within 2 dB.
How it sounds
Because each band is aligned in the digital domain, transients from piano, guitar and drums arrive together and images stay precise. The long-throw woofers with their own high-power amplification give deep, controlled bass at high levels, and orchestral works keep their scale without strain in a larger room.
Considering a similar setup
The Exakt link is the essential part, so the source must be a Linn Exakt player. The 360 Passive with Active Bass shares the cabinet and drivers with external amplifiers for the upper sections and can later be converted. A lower budget can start from the Akurate DSM.

The Linn 360 Exakt speakers are implemented in a four-band concept. The high-frequency range is served by a tweeter with a 19mm beryllium dome.
