Japanese audio manufacturer Luxman has introduced the B-100 Centennial (B-100C) monoblock power amplifier to celebrate the brand's 100th anniversary. This is the company's first model of its kind in 20 years. The new amplifier combines Class A and Class AB amplification technologies, delivering high power output without excessive heat generation or energy consumption.

At output levels of up to 25 watts into 8 ohms, the amplifier operates in Class A mode, automatically switching to Class AB as the volume increases. The maximum output power is 125 watts into 8 ohms and 250 watts into 4 ohms. According to the manufacturer, this design ensures low distortion levels and enables the amplifier to drive even demanding loudspeakers.

The Luxman B-100C monoblock amplifier features four parallel three-stage push-pull Darlington circuits. Its power supply incorporates a transformer with an electrical steel core and flat copper windings. Luxman has also refined its proprietary feedback system to improve signal accuracy while preserving a natural sound character. The amplifier's chassis features Luxman's signature Blasted White silver finish. Special cast-iron feet help minimize vibrations, while the front panel houses an analog output power meter with soft white illumination. RCA and XLR inputs are provided for connecting a preamplifier.

The Luxman B-100C monaural power amplifier is expected to go on sale soon. The recommended retail price for a pair of monoblocks in Europe is €52,980.
