Bookshelf Speakers — Raidho Acoustics C Centric

The Raidho C Centric is a 2.5-way monitor from the Danish company's C series, designed to work either horizontally as a dedicated centre channel or in pairs as vertical side speakers in a home theatre.

Key specs that matter

Frequency range is 40 Hz to 50 kHz, sensitivity 89 dB at 2.83 V/m, nominal impedance over 4 ohms. Raidho recommends more than 50 W of amplifier power. Crossover points are 150 Hz and 3 kHz with second order slopes. Each unit measures 560 x 230 x 410 mm and weighs 50 kg, in black piano or white piano.

Engineering and use context

Treble comes from Raidho's hand-built planar magnetic ribbon tweeter, whose 11 micron foil has its breakup point at 82 kHz. Two 4.5 inch ceramic drivers pair N52 neodymium magnets with titanium voice coils in underhung form. The vented cabinet has a rear port.
