Magico is a Californian maker of high-end loudspeakers, set up in 2004 by Alon Wolf in Hayward, California. It builds sealed loudspeakers in machined aluminium and carbon fibre enclosures and has worked for two decades on cabinets and drivers that add as little of their own as possible. The company employs roughly 30 people.

Range & what it's known for

The current line has three series plus the Titan model. The A Series (A5, A3, A1) is the entry family with flat-panelled aluminium cabinets, the S Series (S7, S5, S3, S2) uses curved aluminium enclosures, and the flagship M Series (M9, M7, M6, M3, M2) combines carbon fibre skins with an aluminium honeycomb core and reaches up to six-driver, four-way floorstanders. All models are acoustic suspension designs without ports. Drivers include beryllium tweeters, with a diamond coating in the M Series, and Nano-Tec cones reinforced with graphene. Magico was the first loudspeaker maker to use graphene in cone construction. Crossovers follow the in-house Elliptical Symmetry topology with 24 dB per octave Linkwitz-Riley filters and Mundorf parts.

Who owns it and where it's made

Founder Alon Wolf still leads Magico, which marked its 20th anniversary in 2024. The company builds its speakers in its own 30,000-square-foot factory in Hayward, California, using aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminium for the enclosures, and sells through distributors in 34 countries.

The lineup in this catalog

Loudspeakers in several categories. The A Series opens at about USD 20,000, and the top M Series systems sell for far more than USD 500,000.

Who it's for

Magico fits listeners with a large budget and a room that can take heavy floorstanders. The A1 standmount and the A3 and A5 floorstanders open the range, the S Series adds curved cabinets and more drivers, and the M Series runs from the compact M2 up to the M9. Buyers who want a ported design or a wooden cabinet will not find one here, since every current model is sealed and built around metal or composite enclosures. The crossovers are optimised for single-wire connection, so no bi-wiring is needed.
