The T1 White Edition, marked by Pro-Ject as a Limited Edition, is a variant of the entry T1 turntable from Pro-Ject Audio Systems, based on the standard T1 EVO and hand-made in Europe. Every visible component is white, from the Satin White plinth to the tonearm and the cartridge body. The deck was announced in December 2025 at a suggested US price just under USD 500 and a European recommended price of EUR 499, and it arrives ready to play with arm, cartridge, phono cable, felt mat and dustcover in the box.
Key specs that matter
Speeds are 33 and 45 rpm, selected by moving the belt by hand. Pro-Ject lists speed variance of 0.7% at 33 rpm and 0.6% at 45 rpm, with wow and flutter of 0.25% and 0.23% respectively, and 65 dB signal to noise. The platter is a heavy 1.3 kg steel disc covered by a felt mat. The straight one-piece aluminium tonearm is 8.6 inches long, with an effective length of 218.5 mm, an effective mass of 8.0 g and an overhang of 22.0 mm. The counterweight arrives pre-mounted and covers 5 to 10 g, while downforce is adjustable from 0 to 50 mN and comes pre-adjusted to 17.5 mN. The deck measures 415 x 100 x 335 mm (WxHxD), weighs 3.8 kg net and draws no more than 3 W.
Engineering and use context
Built with no hollow spaces inside, the CNC-machined plinth reflects an aim to keep unwanted vibration out of the chassis. The motor pulls a belt around a sub-platter that sits in a main bearing machined to a tolerance of 0.001 mm, pairing a hardened steel axle with a brass bushing. The arm has an integrated headshell and low-friction bearings, and the whole deck stands on vibration absorbing feet. The fitted cartridge is the Pick it 2M White, a moving magnet design with an elliptical diamond stylus tip. Power comes from a 230 V 50 Hz supply, or 110 V 60 Hz in the US version. The dustcover has adjustable hinges so it can stay open at chosen angles while a record plays.
Pairing
Because the T1 White Edition has no phono preamplifier inside, the supplied phono cable, which is super-shielded, semi-symmetrical and low in capacitance, needs to go to a moving magnet input or to a separate phono stage. The MM cartridge suits the standard phono section built into most integrated amplifiers.
Alternatives
The Pro-Ject T2 is the step-up turntable in the same range, adding electronic speed change, a 10 mm glass platter of 1.7 kg, a 9 inch arm and a factory-fitted Sumiko Rainier cartridge.
