Проигрыватели виниловых дисков — Pro-Ject E1.2

The E1.2 is Pro-Ject's most basic belt-drive turntable, built for a first record player rather than a reference source. It occupies the true entry point of the brand's turntable catalogue, aimed at someone testing whether vinyl is a format worth investing further in rather than committing to a serious system from the outset.

Position in line

It sits at the entry point of Pro-Ject's turntable range, below the Debut S and Debut Carbon EVO - the absence of a pre-fitted cartridge here is a deliberate cost-saving measure rather than an oversight.

Key specs that matter

Wow and flutter is specified separately per speed - 0.23% at 33 rpm and 0.21% at 45 rpm - slightly higher than the single-figure ratings quoted on the Debut models, reflecting the more basic bearing and motor assembly used at this price point. Signal-to-noise is 65 dB, the lowest figure among the models compared here, again consistent with its position as the most basic deck in the range. The axle runs in a bronze bushing rather than the ceramic or inverted designs used further up the range, a simpler and less expensive bearing solution that trades some long-term precision for cost. At 420 x 112 x 330 mm and 3.6 kg it is the lightest turntable in this group.

Sound and use context

Expect a basic, functional presentation - the higher wow and flutter and lower signal-to-noise figures point to a noisier, less speed-stable platform than the Debut-series models above it, though still a genuine step up from a fully automatic all-in-one turntable of the type sold in department stores.

Pairing

No cartridge ships pre-fitted, so a moving-magnet cartridge and matching phono stage need to be sourced separately before first use, which adds a small amount of setup complexity compared with the ready-to-play Debut models.

Alternatives

The Debut S and Debut Carbon EVO both add a pre-fitted cartridge and a heavier platter for a moderate step up in price - the more complete starting point for most first-time buyers who would rather not shop for a cartridge separately.

Because it ships without a cartridge, total first-time cost should include a modest moving-magnet cartridge and, if the amplifier lacks phono input, a separate phono stage as well, both of which push the effective entry price above the turntable's own listed figure.
