The Design One from the French brand YBA is a disc player that reads both CD and SACD and runs from its own battery, which YBA describes as the first transportable, battery-powered SACD player. Beyond disc playback, the Design One works as a USB DAC through its USB-C port, accepting PCM up to 32-bit and 768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512. The same USB-C connection handles charging and external power, and YBA specifies a 9 V, 3 A charger with PD3.0 PPS support for that job. An S/PDIF coaxial output hands the bitstream to an outboard converter, while a USB-C audio output provides a second digital route. Because the battery removes any need for a mains cable during playback, the unit can move between rooms or travel with its owner, and it doubles as a headphone system without extra boxes.

At home, the RCA pair plugs into an ordinary line-level input on a preamplifier or integrated amp, and the balanced socket suits amplifiers or active speakers that accept a balanced feed through a suitable adapter cable. Headphone users can connect single-ended or balanced models to the matching jack, and a laptop can use the unit as its converter over USB-C. The coaxial output lets an owner route discs to a separate DAC in a larger system.
