CD/SACD-проигрыватели и транспорты — Luxman D-07X Black Edition CENTENNIAL

The D-07X Black Edition Centennial is a CD and SACD player from Luxman, built around the brand's own ROHM-based conversion engine for a system centred on physical disc playback. Luxman celebrated a significant company anniversary with this Centennial edition, and the model represents a serious flagship-adjacent disc player within the brand's current catalogue.

Position in line

It sits below the D-10X and above the D-08u in Luxman's CD/SACD player range, sharing the same ROHM BD34301EKV conversion chip as the D-10X. This shared conversion chip with the considerably pricier D-10X suggests the core digital engineering is essentially identical between the two, with the flagship model likely differentiated more by chassis mass and analogue output stage refinement.

Key specs that matter

CD bandwidth is 5 Hz to 20 kHz, extending to 38 kHz for SACD. Both balanced and single-ended outputs deliver 2.4 V. Signal-to-noise is 122 dB for CD and 125 dB for SACD. Distortion is 0.0016% for CD and a lower 0.0007% for SACD. At 17.0 kg it is lighter than the larger D-10X, though still a substantial chassis for the category.

Sound and use context

Expect a very low-noise, highly resolved presentation, with the SACD layer's wider bandwidth and lower distortion audible as extra air and detail compared with CD playback of the same disc - a worthwhile format difference for anyone with SACD titles in their collection alongside standard CDs.

Pairing

Both balanced and single-ended outputs at 2.4 V suit either type of preamplifier without a gain shortfall, giving flexibility regardless of what preamplifier the rest of the system already uses.

Alternatives

The D-08u sits below this model with a Burr-Brown rather than ROHM chip, representing an earlier conversion chip generation. The D-10X sits above it as the heavier flagship in the same generation, worth the further investment if chassis mass and ultimate build prestige matter alongside the shared core digital performance. Luxman has built decades of trust specifically within the disc-playback category, a segment many rivals have since abandoned in favour of streaming-only source components, and this Centennial edition reflects the brand continued commitment to physical media at a serious engineering level. A dealer demonstration comparing SACD and CD-layer playback on the same hybrid disc, where available, is a worthwhile way to hear the format difference this player is capable of resolving.
