CD/SACD-проигрыватели и транспорты — Primare CD35 Prisma

The CD35 Prisma is the networked version of the full-width CD35 disc player from Primare of Sweden, pairing a TEAC tray drive and a balanced DAC with the Prisma connectivity and control platform. It plays compact discs, stored files over USB or the home network, and streamed services, and it groups with other Prisma products for multi-room and multi-zone use. The listed price is EUR 3,500.

Key specs that matter

Inside are a TEAC CD 5020A-AT transport and an ESS Sabre ES9028PRO converter. The RCA outputs give 2.2 Vrms from 370 ohm and the XLR outputs 4.4 Vrms from 100 ohm, with fixed or variable level selectable. Analogue frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz within -0.5 dB, while through the digital inputs the deviation is +0.1 and -0.6 dB at 44.1 kHz, +0.1 and -0.2 dB at 96 kHz and within 0.1 dB at 192 kHz. Rated S/N is 110 dB to AES17 with THD+N under 0.01 percent. USB-A, wired and wireless inputs accept PCM to 24-bit and 192 kHz plus DSD128 at 5.6 MHz. Consumption is 25 W playing and 0.5 W idle. The case is 430 x 385 x 106 mm including knobs and sockets and weighs 10.8 kg.

Engineering and use context

The ES9028PRO is a 32-bit eight-channel HyperStream chip rated at 129 dB dynamic range, used here in balanced mode ahead of a discrete output stage with hand-picked FET input devices. The TEAC drive is isolated and tuned for smooth tray movement and quiet clamping, with a buffered I2S and SPDIF link to the DAC. The linear main supply works alongside a switch mode standby supply that turns off while music plays. Prisma adds Chromecast built-in, AirPlay, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, UPnP/DLNA and Roon Ready playback. Through Chromecast, services such as TIDAL and Qobuz reach the player at up to 24-bit and 96 kHz, and firmware updates arrive through the Google Home app. Supported file types are WAV, LPCM, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG and DSD. Two Ethernet ports double as a network switch, the 10/100 Mbit LAN is joined by dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and coaxial and Toslink digital outputs are fitted.

Pairing

Primare points out that pairing this player with an I35 Prisma would duplicate the DAC and streaming hardware, and proposes the analogue-only I35 instead, noting that the amplifier then cannot be controlled from the Prisma app. Selecting variable output turns the player into a disc and streaming front end for powered speakers. The C25 remote, RS232, IR and trigger connections cover system control, and the case comes in Black or Titanium.

Alternatives

The Primare CD15 Prisma offers disc and network playback in a three-quarter-width chassis with a Philips slot-loading drive and an AKM converter.
