The Elipson Sub 10 is the entry model among the three active subwoofers of the new Elipson series launched in September 2025 to replace the earlier Prestige Facet subwoofers. Elipson positions it for medium-sized rooms and for both hi-fi and home theatre systems. Design work was carried out by the company in the Val-de-Marne department near Paris, France. The launch price was EUR 699 in Europe and GBP 599 in the UK, with a two-year manufacturer warranty.

Key specs that matter

Its 250 mm driver is a unit with a fibreglass cone that Elipson chose for its mix of stiffness and low mass, powered by a 300 W class D amplifier. Response is rated from 27 Hz to 200 Hz. With grille and feet the cabinet stands 39.5 cm high, 36 cm wide and 44.2 cm deep, shrinking to 38 x 36 x 43 cm without them, and it weighs 18 kg. The finish is matte black.

Engineering and use context

The enclosure uses reflex loading through a port on the front face. An internal acoustic guide shaped as a laminar chicane sits in the port to steady the air flow and cut turbulence. With the port on the front baffle the unit can be placed near a wall or slid under furniture, a point Elipson makes directly for this model. DSP processing adds 3 dB around 30 Hz to extend the perceived low end of the small cabinet. A subsonic filter protects the driver from 26 Hz downward. The crossover is adjustable between 40 Hz and 200 Hz, phase can be inverted between 0 and 180 degrees, and an auto standby circuit powers the amplifier up and down according to input activity. Connections include one LFE input, a stereo line-level input and a stereo line-level output, so the Sub 10 can be inserted into a stereo chain ahead of the power amp as well as take a dedicated subwoofer feed from a receiver. The two bigger models keep the same cone material, port layout and controls with larger drivers and more power.

Pairing

Surround receivers and processors with a subwoofer pre-out connect to the LFE socket, and the stereo line input serves stereo preamplifiers or integrated amplifiers that offer preamp outputs. Its compact size and moderate weight make it the easiest of the range to fit into a typical 20 m2 living room next to standmount or small tower speakers, and the matte black finish is the only colour listed.
