Сабвуферы — Velodyne Digital Drive 18 Plus

The Digital Drive 18 Plus is a large powered subwoofer from Velodyne, built with an exceptionally deep rated low-frequency extension and very high amplifier power. This model represents Velodyne's most ambitious subwoofer engineering within this comparison, sitting at the top of the brand's Digital Drive series.

Position in line

It sits above the Digital Drive 15 Plus in Velodyne's Digital Drive hierarchy, as the brand's largest subwoofer. This flagship positioning within the Digital Drive series confirms this model represents Velodyne's fullest engineering ambition for domestic bass reinforcement, incorporating whatever refinements the brand considers its absolute best.

Key specs that matter

Rated response is an exceptionally deep 14.4 Hz to 120 Hz. The built-in amplifier is rated at 3000 W. At 58 x 53 x 65 cm and 64.4 kg it is a very large, heavy cabinet, consistent with the exceptionally deep bass extension and considerable amplifier power this flagship model represents.

Sound and use context

Expect extraordinarily deep, high-output bass extension, among the deepest and most powerful domestic subwoofers available - a reference-level performer built without meaningful compromise for the most demanding low-frequency reproduction.

Pairing

Standard line-level or speaker-level subwoofer inputs work with any AV processor or preamplifier offering a subwoofer output, so integration should present no particular challenge despite the subwoofer's exceptional scale.

Alternatives

The Digital Drive 15 Plus sits below this model in Velodyne's range for a more modest installation, worth considering if this model's exceptional 3000 W amplifier and 64.4 kg weight exceed what a specific room requires. Given the exceptional scale here, checking the available mains circuit capacity in the installation room is a sensible precaution before the unit arrives, particularly in an older home where the wiring may not have been designed with such demanding equipment in mind. Velodyne well-regarded warranty and service network is worth confirming directly with a dealer before committing to a purchase at this level. Overall this remains an uncompromising flagship choice for the most demanding low-frequency reproduction available. A dealer visit remains the simplest way to compare this model against the smaller Digital Drive 15 Plus. A dedicated or adequately rated mains circuit is worth confirming given the exceptional amplifier scale here.
