Raidho Acoustics builds the X2.8 as a floorstander with three ways, and the company, based in Pandrup under Dantax Radio A/S, marked its 25th year in 2025. It was first shown in May 2026, and Raidho calls it a statement model within its more accessible X Series, a substantial step up above the compact X1.6 Reference standmount rather than a range filler. Deliveries are scheduled from September 2026, with every pair hand-built in Denmark. The list price is EUR 27,000 per pair in black or white high gloss and EUR 30,000 per pair in walnut veneer.

Key specs that matter

Low frequencies are handled by two 8-inch bass drivers, and Raidho specifies extension down to 32 Hz. A midrange unit completes the three-way layout with a Raidho ribbon tweeter. The company states that the moving mass of the ribbon is around 50 times lower than that of a conventional dome tweeter. All drive units are developed by Raidho and made in-house. Raidho has not yet given sensitivity, impedance, crossover frequencies, cabinet dimensions or weight.

Engineering and use context

The woofer membranes combine aluminium with ceramic, a pairing Raidho chose because it joins stiffness with self-damping, aiming for controlled low-frequency output. Across its lineup Raidho describes the ribbon as a planar magnetic design with an 11-micron foil that weighs about 20 milligrams and carries no voice coil, with breakup placed at 82 kHz. The passive network is assembled by hand from Mundorf parts and wired point to point with Nordost cable instead of relying on a printed circuit board. CEO Morten Kim Nielsen positions the model as the physical foundation of a serious full-range loudspeaker, which explains the choice of twin large woofers in place of the smaller woofers used in the compact members of the X range.

Pairing

Twin woofers and deep bass extension point the X2.8 at larger rooms and systems that need more bass weight than the standmount X1.6 Reference can give. Until impedance and sensitivity are known, a solid-state stereo or mono amplifier with good current delivery is the safer starting point for a passive three-way design with this bass extension. The hand-wired crossover suits source and preamplifier chains that are equally free of unnecessary processing.

The Raidho X2.6 is a smaller floorstander in the same X Series, rated at 87 dB with 2.83 V in a 30 kg, 1065 mm tall cabinet with rear ports.
