The TD3.10 is a Danish three-way floorstander from Raidho Acoustics. It belongs to the TD Series, where it succeeds the earlier TD3.8. It combines the company's planar-magnetic ribbon tweeter with two midrange units and two large bass drivers in a bass-reflex cabinet finished in hand-matched walnut burl.

Key specs that matter

Raidho fits five drive units to every enclosure. The ribbon tweeter uses an 11-micron foil weighing 20 mg, with a stated breakup point of 82 kHz. Two 5.25 inch TD midrange drivers and two 10 inch TD bass drivers with diamond-coated diaphragms complete the complement. Raidho quotes a frequency range of 20 Hz to 50 kHz within 3 dB, a sensitivity of 89 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m and a nominal impedance of 4 ohm. The recommended amplifier power is 50 to 300 W. With spikes fitted each speaker measures 485 mm wide, 1,520 mm tall and 700 mm deep, and it weighs 105 kg.

Engineering and use context

The midrange units flank the ribbon in an MTM arrangement, so the tweeter sits between two cones of equal size on the baffle. The crossover divides the band at 240 Hz and 2.7 kHz, using a mix of second-order and fourth-order slopes built with Raidho's own filter techniques. Parts include Mundorf High End components, air-core inductors and polypropylene capacitors, while Nordost Norse cable links the drivers and terminals inside. The cabinet panels are CNC-milled into curved shapes and veneered with walnut burl, where the veneer flowers are matched by hand. Each panel goes through eight sanding stages and sixteen coats of lacquer for a mirror finish. Every step of this veneer work is done on the curved panels after milling, and the veneer panels are serialised so that left and right cabinets form a matched pair.

Pairing

Raidho lists Class A and Class B amplification as the preferred types for this model. The low nominal impedance and the size of the two bass drivers favour a solid-state or hybrid design with a stable output stage and good current delivery rather than a small single-ended valve amplifier. Given the cabinet mass, placement should be settled before the spikes are fitted, and a room of at least 20 m2 gives the bass-reflex tuning space to work.
