The FENJA is a passive three-way tower speaker made by SV-Audio, the trading name of Storgaard & Vestskov ApS, based in Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm. The company lists four models, the compact FRIDA bookshelf, the compact GRO and line-source ASTRID towers and the FENJA. Every SV-Audio speaker is built in Denmark and is individually measured, inspected and approved during production.
Key specs that matter
Seven drivers sit in each cabinet. Four 7 inch woofers and one 5 inch midrange use woven, self-reinforced polypropylene cones, and two 38 mm silk dome ring radiator tweeters with neodymium motors handle the top octaves. SV-Audio rates frequency response at 30 Hz to 20 kHz within 3 dB either way, sensitivity at 89 dB with a tolerance of 2 dB, and nominal impedance at 4 ohm. The recommended amplifier power is 100 to 300 W. Each enclosure measures 24 cm wide, 125 cm tall and 56 cm deep and weighs 58 kg, while a packed pair reaches 185 kg. The maker states the model suits rooms of up to 100 m2.
Engineering and use context
SV-Audio gives the cabinet a trapezoidal shape with a slightly angled front baffle, used for mechanical time alignment so that sound from all drivers reaches the listening position coherently. Inside, the enclosure is split into separate chambers, giving each driver group its own volume and preventing interaction across frequency ranges. Rather than one large reflex opening, seven smaller bass reflex ports are spread across the rear panel. One of the two tweeters faces backwards as an ambience unit and the owner may engage or disengage it as required. Sitting between the drivers, the crossover network uses low-resistance components, and the company says it was refined through listening and measurement. Standard satin finishes are Pure Black with Bentley Copper or matte black fronts, and high gloss options include Black Pearl, Crème White, Reference Pearl Gray and Deep Pearl Blue, with any automotive two or three layer colour code available on order.
Pairing
The FENJA pairs a low nominal impedance with a fairly high minimum power recommendation, which calls for amplification that can deliver steady current into low impedance, either an integrated model or a preamplifier with a stereo or mono power stage in that bracket.
Alternatives
The SV-Audio ASTRID is a smaller two-way floorstanding design in the Danish range, built around a line-source woofer arrangement.
