Key specs that matter

A pair of 8-inch drivers covers bass and midrange, and a polygon-oriented, triple-ring radiator array covers the high frequencies. Tekton states only the upper limit, 30 kHz, and does not publish a lower frequency figure. Sensitivity is 98 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m. Average impedance is 6 ohms with a minimum of 4 ohms, and power handling is 300 W. The cabinet measures about 1,029 x 260 x 330 mm and weighs about 23.6 kg.

Engineering and use context

Tekton calls the high-frequency section a controlled-directivity array and describes it as giving focus similar to a horn without the use of a horn. The array is based on the company's US Patent 9247339, which groups several low-mass radiators in rings instead of relying on one large tweeter. The impedance profile is easier for many amplifiers than a nominal 4 ohm design. Its sensitivity exceeds the 96 dB of the larger Electron SE, although the Enzo 2.7 uses smaller cabinets and fewer drivers. The 2.7 is one of the shorter Tekton towers, standing just over one metre tall, which makes it suitable for smaller rooms. USD 75 buys either bi-wire or bi-amp terminals, and owners can choose colours and finishes, order grilles, which ship separately, and select a footer style. An upgrade package is also offered, and delivery costs nothing within the continental US.

The high sensitivity lets a single-ended tube amplifier of a few watts or a compact solid-state integrated amplifier drive the Enzo 2.7 to high levels in a room of about 20 m2. Larger amplifiers also stay within its power handling. The average load suits most tube and transistor designs, and the dips at some frequencies are handled without difficulty by amplifiers rated for low impedances. The moderate weight makes a pair easy to move and position.
