The Nines II is one of three powered stereo speaker pairs that Klipsch introduced at CES 2026 as part of its 80th anniversary, placed above The Fives II and The Sevens II. Its new electronics package was developed with Onkyo and draws on that brand's AV receiver engineering, and Klipsch says the redesigned layout makes the speakers more compact than the first generation. The US price is USD 2,399.99 per pair, with deliveries planned from spring 2026 in Walnut, Ebony or a new Red Oak veneer that comes with a white baffle and light grey grilles.

Key specs that matter

Klipsch rates the pair at 31 Hz to 25 kHz within 3 dB and gives a maximum output of 107 dB at 1 m for the stereo pair. Each cabinet is a two-way bass-reflex box with a rear-firing port, combining a 1 inch (2.5 cm) vented titanium LTS tweeter mounted in a Tractrix horn with an 8 inch Jet Cerametallic woofer. The cabinet is 460 mm height, 245 mm width and 375 mm depth, with MDF walls under real wood veneer.

Engineering and use context

The front is a single moulded BMC baffle, which Klipsch says is denser and stiffer than before and has a curved radius around the drivers. Video passes through an HDMI 2.1 input and output with 8K, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, VRR, ALLM, QFT and HDCP 2.3, while the main output supports eARC with CEC. The processor decodes Dolby Atmos with virtual height channels and also DTS:X, and offers Music, Movie, Direct and a dialogue mode plus a 5-band EQ, all selected from the remote control that ships with two AAA batteries. Wi-Fi is dual-band 802.11ac with 2x2 MIMO, a wired Ethernet port also handles IP control, and Bluetooth 5.4 carries SBC and AAC. The two speakers can be linked by the supplied 4 m four-conductor cable, which keeps 96 kHz and 24 bit, or run wirelessly at 48 kHz. The power supply is internal and accepts 100 to 240 V.

Pairing

The box also holds a 2 m region-specific mains cord, the measurement microphone and a 1.5 m HDMI lead for linking a television through eARC, and games consoles can go through the HDMI input so the TV still gets full video. A single RCA line output feeds an external subwoofer for deeper bass in larger rooms. Other inputs are phono and line RCA, USB-C audio, USB-A, optical and coaxial. Klipsch lists its KS-24 stand as the matching floor support.

Alternatives

The original Klipsch The Nines remains on sale with a long-throw woofer, 240 W of total system power and HDMI-ARC.
