The Essence is the most compact loudspeaker made by Lorenzo Audio of Granada, Spain, and opens the company's Bravo Collection. This two-way monitor is sold together with its own matching stand, and it launched in mid-May 2026 at a price of EUR 39,500 including taxes. It is also the first model to use the Resonance Optimization System, or ROS, a Lorenzo method for analysing and controlling cabinet resonances through the choice of materials and the way the enclosure is assembled.
Key specs that matter
A 7.5 inch woofer with a carbon fibre cone covers the lower band, and a 3/4 inch soft dome tweeter takes the top. Lorenzo rates the frequency response at 33 Hz to 25 kHz, sensitivity at 88 dB and nominal impedance at 8 ohm. With the stand fitted, each speaker is 113 cm tall, 23.5 cm wide and 38.5 cm deep, and it weighs 25 kg. Bass is reflex loaded, and its port is placed on the front baffle.
Engineering and use context
Both the monitor cabinet and the stand chassis are made entirely of 21 mm birch phenolic plywood. Panzerholz, a dense compressed wood, is used for the feet and for the hardware around the speaker connectors. The front port is hand-turned from tonewood, and the cabinet carries marquetry decoration and shellac French polishing, techniques borrowed from guitar building, over a natural wood veneer applied by hand. An unusual detail is where the crossover sits. The hand-soldered passive network uses no printed circuit board and is mounted inside the supplied stand rather than in the monitor itself, which keeps it away from the woofer enclosure. Parts come from Duelund, Mundorf, Jantzen and Pathaudio, and the internal wiring is high-purity copper. The same eight veneers as on the larger Lorenzo towers are offered, from Macassar Ebony and Ziricote to Tamo Ash, White Ebony and gloss black. With the network living inside the matching stand, the monitor is meant to be used on it rather than on a shelf or a third-party stand.
Pairing
Lorenzo suggests amplifiers delivering between 30 and 300 W per channel. The nominal load is an easy match for solid-state designs, while the moderate efficiency points toward amplifiers at the upper part of that range rather than small single-ended valve units.
Alternatives
Lorenzo Audio lists no other stand-mount model, since The Essence is the single compact monitor in its range.
