The Sonetto line sits between the entry Lumina range and the higher Olympica Nova range in the Italian company's catalogue, and the G2 update applies technologies from the brand's more expensive models to the mid-priced series.

Engineering and use context

The copper ring in the tweeter motor and the aluminium ring in the midwoofer motor are both demodulation devices that reduce distortion caused by changes in the voice coil inductance. The midwoofer is mounted with a leather-wrapped flower petal flange, a detail taken from the Suprema system. The cabinet follows the lute-shaped outline used across Sonus faber's range, with leather covering and a wooden top set at 45 degrees. Finishes are Walnut, Wenge and Piano Black, plus a limited matte white. Sonus faber reserves its Paracross crossover topology for the Sonetto V and VIII floorstanders, while the II uses a phase-coherent network.
