The Aurelia is a compact two-way sealed monitor from Estelon of Estonia and the first model of the A-Series, a range aimed at small to medium living rooms and home offices. Estelon presented it at the 2025 High End show in Munich, the year of the company's 15th anniversary, together with the Aurelia Centre channel speaker and the Aurus subwoofer. European pricing was EUR 14,900 per pair on its own or EUR 17,900 with the floor stand.
Key specs that matter
Two 132 mm SB Acoustics Satori mid-range drivers with Egyptian papyrus fibre-filled paper cones flank a 25 mm Scan-Speak Illuminator textile dome tweeter. Rated response is 70 to 30,000 Hz, sensitivity is 87 dB at 2.83 V and nominal impedance is 4 ohm, dipping to a minimum of 3.7 ohm at 170 Hz. Power rating is 80 W, and Estelon asks for at least 30 W of amplification. The speaker stands 550 mm tall, 290 mm wide and 210 mm deep and weighs 9.5 kg, while on its floor stand the figures become 1,155 x 305 x 295 mm and 14 kg. Estelon gives a room size of 16 to 60 m2.
Engineering and use context
The enclosure is thermoformed from a mineral-filled composite by vacuum moulding, a process that lets Estelon give it curved, non-parallel surfaces to suppress internal standing waves and resonance. Because the box is sealed, there is no reflex port to place relative to walls. The tweeter sits in an elliptical waveguide. The crossover uses second-order slopes at 2.2 kHz, built with air-core coils, Auricap capacitors and Mundorf bifilar resistors, wired point to point, and Kubala-Sosna cable is used for the internal runs. Two mounting options come with the design - desk stand feet for use on a desk or sideboard, and optional floor stand feet, both shaped to avoid reflections and diffraction. Six standard finishes are listed - White, Amber Elegance, Starlight, Iron Grey, Horizon Blue and Black Gloss - and Estelon will paint custom colours on request.
Pairing
With a low nominal impedance that falls slightly further in the upper bass, the Aurelia needs an amplifier that is comfortable driving low impedances, and the modest sensitivity favours solid-state designs over low-powered valve units. The A-Series has companion models for home cinema use, the Aurelia Centre at EUR 7,500 and the Aurus subwoofer with a 12 inch driver and a 1,200 W amplifier at EUR 13,500, which can take over the range below the sealed monitor's lower limit.
Alternatives
Estelon's XC Diamond is a larger stand-mount with two Accuton ceramic mid-woofers and a diamond tweeter on an integrated stand.
