The Space Travel 2 is a true wireless earphone from the Chinese brand Moondrop, announced in July 2025 at USD 29.99. As the second generation of the budget Space Travel line, it moves to a Bluetooth 6.0 chipset with a built-in DSP and replaces the titanium composite diaphragm of the first model with a beryllium-plated dome. Moondrop designates it MD-TWS-046 and sells it in black and white.

Key specs that matter

Each earbud contains a 13mm moving-coil driver whose composite diaphragm carries a beryllium-plated dome, driven by an imported CCAW voice coil and an N52 neodymium magnet. Moondrop rates distortion at no more than 0.05 percent. Codec support is SBC and AAC, and the supported Bluetooth profiles are A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and HSP, with a working range of 10 m without obstacles. Each earbud has a 3.7 V, 35 mAh cell for about 7 hours of AAC playback, and the 380 mAh case extends this to about 24 hours in total. The case charges at 5 V and 1 A and supplies the earbuds at 5 V and 0.25 A. A game mode cuts the transmission delay to 55 ms.

Engineering and use context

Noise cancelling uses a single feedforward microphone per side, so the system measures ambient noise outside the ear and generates the opposite signal over a wide band, rather than combining it with an inner feedback microphone as hybrid designs do. Moondrop says retuned filters and updated software give clearly stronger noise reduction than the previous generation. A transparency mode passes outside sound through when needed. For calls, an AI environmental noise cancellation algorithm runs on an NPU inside the chipset to separate the voice from background noise. Dual-device connection lets the earbuds hold two sources in parallel, with automatic reconnection. Touch controls are customisable and also switch the noise cancelling modes. The MOONDROP Link app gives access to the DSP through a graphic equaliser with adjustable frequency, Q and gain for each band, and users can share their EQ presets with others in the app community. The shells follow a shallow-fit ergonomic shape, which keeps the earbud less deep in the ear canal than a typical in-ear monitor.

Pairing

A Bluetooth-equipped phone, laptop or tablet is the only source needed. AAC is the highest-quality codec offered, and phones that prefer aptX or LDAC will connect over AAC or SBC instead. Since the earbuds carry their own amplification, no external DAC or amplifier is involved.
