The Melomania A100 is a pair of true wireless in-ear earphones from Cambridge Audio of London, launched in Europe and Asia at GBP 119, EUR 139 and USD 149.99, with the US release following later in 2025. It sits in the Melomania family next to the M100 earbuds and the over-ear Melomania P100 headphones, and brings adaptive noise cancelling and lossless-capable Bluetooth codecs to the lower end of the range.
Key specs that matter
Inside each bud sits a custom-tuned 10 mm dynamic driver with recycled neodymium magnets, driven by Class A/B amplification. Processing runs on a Qualcomm QCC3091 chip with quad-core architecture and a dual-core 240 MHz Kalimba DSP. Bluetooth 5.4 is used, with LE Audio support, multipoint pairing to two devices and codecs LDAC, aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, AAC and SBC. A gaming mode cuts latency below 80 ms. The buds run for up to 11 hours per charge with ANC off and 6.5 hours in ANC mode, and the case lifts the total to 39 hours without ANC or 21 hours with it. A full charge takes 1.1 hours. Each bud weighs 4.7 g, the case weighs 38.7 g and measures 44.5 x 80.2 x 27 mm, and the housings are rated IPX5. Black and white versions are offered.
Engineering and use context
Noise cancelling is Qualcomm Adaptive ANC in a hybrid feed-forward and feed-back arrangement, with a transparency mode and wind noise reduction. Six microphones, three per earbud, handle calls. DynamEQ is included to keep the balance consistent at lower volume settings, and a high-performance audio mode is also listed. The Melomania Connect app gives a 7-band adjustable EQ with six genre presets and room for custom profiles, and lets the owner remap the touch controls. Firmware updates arrive over the air. Power reaches the case through USB-C or from a Qi pad, although Cambridge Audio notes the wireless charging is Qi-compatible rather than certified. Google Fast Pair is supported for quicker initial pairing with Android phones, and several silicone tip sizes come in the box.
Pairing
No amplifier or DAC is needed, since conversion and amplification are built into each earbud. LDAC and aptX Lossless only come into play when the phone or computer supports those codecs, otherwise the link falls back to aptX Adaptive, AAC or SBC. Multipoint lets a laptop and a phone remain linked simultaneously.
Alternatives
The Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 is the sibling true wireless model, quoted at 52 hours of total battery life but without LDAC support.
