The EH11 is a compact wireless on-ear headphone from FiiO of Guangzhou, styled after the mini on-ear headphones of the 1980s. Its see-through housing shows the internals, and small wooden earcups sit on each side of a slim band, a look FiiO labels retro-futurism. FiiO announced it in January 2026 at USD 50. The clear and clear-black colourways came first, with Off-white, Burgundy and Cyan scheduled for February 2026.
Key specs that matter
Inside each cup is a 40 mm long-throw dynamic driver with a high-damping composite diaphragm, and the quoted frequency range is 17 Hz to 40 kHz at an impedance of 16 ohms. The Bluetooth 6.0 link carries SBC and AAC plus LDAC running as high as 990 kbps, and the headphone carries Hi-Res Wireless certification. The battery lasts up to 30 hours of playback and recharges in about 2 hours. The whole headphone weighs around 92 g and presses on the ears with a clamping force of about 1.7 N.
Engineering and use context
FiiO chose the driver to deal with the bass leakage typical of small on-ear designs, pushing its resonant frequency down to 60 Hz. The acoustic layout is semi-open, with ventilation ports and damping filters that let air move behind the driver while restricting how much of the signal escapes compared with a fully open back. Two ES9068AS DAC chips decode the two channels, one chip per side. The wooden earcups also work as rotary knobs, so turning them skips tracks or changes volume without buttons. Foam earpads come off for cleaning or replacement, and a second pair in a different colour is packed with the headphone. LDAC is switched on by default, and because it moves more data it draws slightly more battery, so it can be turned off in the companion app.
Pairing
The full LDAC rate needs a phone or player that outputs LDAC, and other sources fall back to SBC or AAC. Two Bluetooth devices can stay connected at once, for example a computer and a phone, so switching between them does not require pairing again. A built-in microphone with noise reduction handles calls and voice chat. The FiiO Control app offers genre presets for pop, classical, jazz and rock, a low-latency gaming mode with dedicated effects and firmware updates. Charging uses the USB-A to Type-C cable supplied, together with a quick start guide.
Alternatives
The FiiO JT1 is a wired closed-back model worn over the ear, with a 50 mm dynamic driver and a copper cable with an inline microphone for wired listening.
