The ToneWinner AT-2000 is an 11-channel AV receiver from Guangzhou Tonewinner Electronics in China that combines surround decoding, amplification and a karaoke processor in one aluminium chassis. It decodes 7.2.4 layouts with two subwoofer outputs and suits living rooms and bedrooms as well as dedicated cinema rooms.

Key specs that matter

Each of the eleven amplifier channels is rated at 160 W RMS into 8 ohm at 1 percent distortion and 285 W RMS into 4 ohm at 3 percent distortion, with one channel driven at 1 kHz. Tonewinner lists 10 Hz to 20 kHz (+1/-3 dB, analog direct), distortion of no more than 0.05 percent, SNR from 98 dB upward (A-weighted), and gain no lower than 40 dB. The receiver handles Atmos and TrueHD from Dolby, and also DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS:X plus DTS virtualisation. The HDMI section has six HDMI 2.1 inputs and two outputs with HDCP 2.2, ARC and CEC, passing 4K at 60 Hz with full RGB colour sampling and 18 Gbps, plus 3D, HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. Engineering and use context

Circuit boards are multi-layer with immersion gold plating, and a high-power transformer feeds the amplifier stages. Speaker layouts run from 2.0 through 5.1.2 and 7.1.4 to 7.2.4. Automatic room calibration measures EQ, speaker distance, delay and level with a microphone, and EQ, volume and input settings can be adjusted separately. Further sockets include two coaxial, two optical and three analog inputs, a 5.1-channel external input, USB audio from a computer, USB drives and memory cards up to 128 GB with FLAC, APE, WAV, WMA and MP3 playback, and a built-in wireless receiver. The on-screen menu and a phone app show song lists, and a separate audio and video matrix lets sound and picture be routed independently. For karaoke, a multi-tap DSP reverb, an anti-howling module and dedicated effect settings are built in, and one button on the remote switches between theatre and karaoke modes. RS232, IR extension and a 5V trigger support system control, and the unit accepts 110 V to 230 V mains. Stored settings can be locked, backed up or reset.

Pairing

Twin subwoofer outputs accept a pair of active subwoofers, and the rating into lower impedances means the AT-2000 can drive lower impedance home cinema speakers. An external reverb device can be added for karaoke use, and an HDMI 4K cable is supplied in the box.
