The ToneWinner AD-2500PRO is a two-channel power amplifier aimed at home theatre systems that need high output, wide dynamic range and fast rise in level, for example driving front main speakers behind an AV processor. It is a large Class AB design built around a heavy linear power supply.

The chassis measures 440 x 178 x 420 mm and weighs 23.5 kg net, or 26 kg packed, so a solid shelf with room for ventilation is required, and the heavy transformer makes lifting it a two-person job. ToneWinner positions the model for installations where an AV processor or receiver pre-out needs extra current for demanding loudspeakers, and the balanced input suits longer cable runs from a rack.

Pairing

The obvious partner is one of ToneWinner's AV processors, such as the AT-600 or AT-200, which offer balanced pre-outs for the main front pair. The remaining channels can then be handled by a multichannel AV amp from the same brand, while this unit carries the load of large, low-sensitivity front speakers. Outside a cinema setup the AD-2500PRO can serve two-channel music listening behind a standalone preamp, where its two channels are driven from the left and right outputs of a Hi-Fi preamp such as ToneWinner's AD-1PRE+.
