The MT-35 MK3 is the third version of the MT-35 valve integrated amplifier from Cayin, succeeding the MT-35MK2 PLUS Bluetooth in the company's MT series, where it sits alongside the MT-12N and MT-50 PLUS Bluetooth. It combines an EL34 output stage with a Bluetooth receiver and an internal digital converter. The silver version reached the market in March 2025 and the black version followed in April 2025, with a European list price slightly below EUR 1,600.

Key specs that matter

Four EL34 tubes, two per channel, work in Class AB, and the input and phase-splitter sections rely on 12AX7/ECC83 and 12AU7/ECC82 valves. Output reaches 2 x 36 W in ultralinear mode and 2 x 18 W in triode mode. The quoted frequency range is 8 Hz to 60 kHz at -3 dB, noise sits 93 dB below full output, and distortion is 0.25 percent at 1 kHz. Three RCA line inputs have a sensitivity of 300 mV and an impedance of 100 kOhm. The case is 326 mm wide, 278 mm deep and 184 mm high, and it weighs 13.5 kg.

Engineering and use context

Cayin builds the circuit with hand-wired point-to-point soldering and uses its own custom output transformers. Bias voltage can be set for each output tube individually, and an illuminated VU meter on the front doubles as the gauge for that adjustment. The output sockets accept EL34 and also 6CA7, 6L6 or 5881 types, so owners can try other valves without modifying the circuit. A detachable cage covers the tubes. Wireless playback runs over Bluetooth 5.1 with AAC, aptX HD and LDAC support, and the signal is converted by an ESS ES9018K2M Sabre32 chip inside the chassis. This removes the need for an external streamer when the source is a phone or tablet, while turntables with a phono stage, CD players and other line-level devices use the RCA sockets.

Pairing

Separate 4 ohm and 8 ohm loudspeaker terminals allow the transformer tap to suit the rated impedance of each speaker pair. The switchable triode setting halves the available power, which makes sensitive standmounts or towers the natural partners for a room of around 20 m2 when that mode is used. A front-mounted headphone jack accepts headphones from 16 to 300 ohm, so the amplifier also serves for late-night listening without another component.
