The M5xi is an integrated amplifier from Musical Fidelity based on technology from the company's TITAN power amplifier. Inside, two independent monobloc power amplifiers share the chassis with a separate preamplifier, and the maker states that the topology was completely revised to stay closer to the TITAN design than that of the earlier M5si. Announced on 28 April 2026 alongside the M6xi, it began shipping in the UK in limited numbers in May 2026 at GBP 2,099, with EUR 2,290 and USD 2,690 quoted for other markets, and a silver or a black faceplate can be ordered.

Engineering and use context

The fully analogue low-noise preamp controls level through a stepped Burr-Brown attenuator. A Darlington output stage with low distortion is used to avoid crossover artefacts, the PCB layout was optimised to reduce circuit imbalances, and the power supplies run purely analogue during operation, with the main transformer and supply board housed in a metal enclosure. The new MM/MC phono stage has improved shielding, 3 mV MM or 0.4 mV MC sensitivity, 40 or 60 dB gain, over 87 dB signal to noise, 220 pF capacitance, 50 kilohm or 1 kilohm input impedance and RIAA accuracy of 0.4 dB. Alongside four RCA line inputs there are HDMI eARC, coaxial, optical and USB-C inputs, the last accepting up to 24-bit and 192 kHz. Outputs include a constant-level tape output, a variable preamp output and two speaker outputs with 4 mm banana sockets. An isolated USB-A socket supplies 5 V at 2 A for an external streamer, and RS232 plus trigger in and out support custom installation. A new M-Series system remote is included. Mains setting is 115 or 230 V AC, or 100 V AC as an option, and maximum draw is 320 W.
