Shanling has released the second version of the famous CD80 CD player. The new Shanling CD80 II CD player is equipped with an updated digital-to-analog converter, a Bluetooth module and a powerful headphone amplifier.
The Shanling CD80 II CD player no longer uses an ESS chip, but a Cirrus Logic CS43198 converter - a microcircuit that provides audiophile sound quality. The built-in headphone amplifier is equipped with two jacks for connection - when working on the 3.5 mm output, it provides a power of 215 mW (at 32 Ohm load), and when using a balanced 4.4 mm jack - up to 850 mW. That is, the player is quite capable of handling even complex headphones. And the output impedance of less than 1 Ohm is especially important for sensitive in-ear headphones.
The Shanling CD80 II replaces the top loading disc with a more familiar front-loading tray. The drive has been specially tuned to ensure stability and accuracy of reading. Not forgotten here is a USB port, allowing playback of high-resolution audio files in PCM format with parameters up to 24/192 and DSD up to DSD256. The device also supports Bluetooth 5.0 with SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs. The Shanling CD80 II CD player is offered in black or silver finish and will go on sale soon with a suggested retail price of $359.
